The Supreme Level Up System

Chapter 340 Reality Is Often Disappointing

Everyone went silent after hearing… Arlana considered several things, and she assumed that despite her intervention, she wasn\'t someone like Aion and the others that were trying to alter the past since her actions didn\'t affect her timeline. Most likely, because her power level wasn\'t that high.

"I consider myself a somewhat intelligent person, but this topic is truly difficult…" Seris massaged her temples. "Since it is a very restrictive field of magic, we can\'t test that much, even when we have the keys to this warehouse that is time magic."

"If you think we have it hard, you probably can\'t even imagine how the people around grandma Clanire\'s time had it hard," Aion said.

Seris sighed since Aion had a point. In any case, they decided to relax and wait instead of dwelling on all that annoying situation. The group waited until Sauros\' returned, and soon night came. Leinia served dinner for them, and she still kept looking at Aion.

"I know that I am better looking than your husband, but you shouldn\'t stare at me so much," Aion said.

"Hahaha, you are really funny," Leinia laughed again.

"That wasn\'t a joke, though," Aion furrowed his eyebrows. "No need to cope, reality is just often disappointing."

"I was just laughing because you are exactly like Sauros described," Leinia added. "He said that you were like a little brother that you were proud of."

At that moment, Seris began to cough violently. It seemed that she didn\'t chew her foot properly.

"He probably said because he has a little sister that he isn\'t that proud of," Aion furrowed his eyebrows. "Anyway, I already have too many older brothers, and I don\'t need more of them."

"Hmm, if you say so…" Leinia still said while smiling as if she had heard the most interesting thing in the world.

Once dinner was over, Aion headed to the garden of the house and then began to meditate. Now that he could use the full power of Meditation at level one hundred with its power, efficiency, and stability at the max, he could train with his magic while even maintaining that state. He wanted to use all the time he had to improve in a certain field.

After concentrating for a while, Aion covered his right fist in mana and then used wind manipulation and enhance the power, making it turn into electricity. He soon stopped, though since he zapped his hands and then became numb.

"Need more training…" Aion thought and then sighed.

Until his hand recovered, Aion focused on making more mana orbs since he couldn\'t just fire his magic around. The more of those, the merrier, after all.

"In any case, he sure is taking his time…" Aion thought.

Sauros had left six hours ago, and he didn\'t think that it would take that long to just look for some archives. In the end, they had to wait until morning for him… things got noisy early in the morning. Aion was lucky that he always woke up earlier, so that didn\'t bother him. Still, Seris sure was making a lot of noise.

When Aion reached the living room, he saw Sauros and two more people. They were arguing with Seris… apparently, that was the case, Seris looked pissed, but the couple, which seemed to be in their thirties, didn\'t look even a bit fazed.

"Oh, you are already awake," Sauros said. "It seems that you can\'t sleep that much, even in other people\'s houses."

"Normally, most people wouldn\'t relax that much when they don\'t usually sleep…" Aion furrowed his eyebrows.

"These are my parents, Jorei, the current head of the Heradins family, and Helen, my mother," Sauros said. "Father, mother, this is Aion Kresnik."

"Oh, you are indeed young…"Jorei said while stroking his chin. "Despite that, you look strong and have a good look in your eyes. How unexpected."

"Unexpected based on what?" Aion asked.

"Your grandparents," Jorei replied. "I met them a few times, you know, and I tried to warn them about their actions."

"Tsk, what an annoying guy…" Arc said.

"Do you have anything to say to him, Grandpa?" Aion asked.

"I would rather not force you to say what I have in mind," Arc replied.

"I see. It is a poem not suited for the ears," Aion nodded to himself.

"Oh, yeah… you mentioned that you had the souls of the Millerians that ended up concentrating on a ghost dungeon,\' Sauros said once he realized that the others were looking weirdly at Aion.

"That old fart didn\'t change even after death?" Zorei asked while furrowing his eyebrows. "I guess even the afterlife was unable to endure his usual behavior."

"Dear, you are leaving a bad impression on Aion," Helen said.

Aion wanted to say that he wasn\'t expecting much, to begin with since they were Seris and Sauros\' parents, but that would be beyond rude for a first meeting.

"We are very thankful that you helped our kids and protected them last year," Helen said. "I felt shivers when I heard the report about the dangers that you faced, and you didn\'t let a single scratch land on them. By the way, you look strong like your father, but you have the good looks of your mother and grandmother."

Helen was someone who certainly walked at the beat of her own drums. Aion had no idea how she could change topics like that so smoothly.

"I am aware of it," Aion replied.

"My, such confidence," Helen smiled.

"All right, I guess this should be enough for introductions," Zorei said. "After hearing from Sauros, I decided to investigate with him since I also knew about that incident… as it turned out, we are almost certain that history didn\'t change."

Aion furrowed his eyebrows since that didn\'t make any sense… were his guesses completely off the mark? Something was off about that. Fortunately, it looked like Sauros and his father had the explanations necessary for it. Aion just had to be patient.
