The CEO's Hidden Bride

Chapter 61 - 61: Wedding Night 5

This was absolutely merciless!

Liuli was at a loss for words.

Meanwhile, Tang Moxi had already taken off his jacket and rolled up his sleeves. He loosened his tie, leaving only two buttons fastened. He lay down on the ground, ready to perform tiger push-ups.

“Brother Moxi, if I sit on you, don’t blame me if I’m too heavy!” Liuli said, her voice on the verge of tears.

“No!” Tang Moxi glanced at her and replied firmly.

Liuli cautiously sat on Mr. Tang’s back, keeping her feet off the ground.

Tang Moxi’s friends widened their eyes, thinking that their sister-in-law was exceptionally sincere!

It suddenly occurred to them that if they were fortunate enough to find such an honest wife in the future, they wouldn’t need to go through this ordeal during their own wedding night.

This realization made them break out in a cold sweat.

Tang Moxi carried Liuli and completed 20 sets of tiger push-ups.

By the end, his hands were trembling.

He was starting to feel his age.

Liuli followed Mr. Tang through one challenge after another. One thought echoed in her mind: there were more twisted tasks to come, but this wasn’t the worst of them!

Among the subsequent challenges were deciphering Morse code, spotting differences in moving pictures within 10 seconds, and transcribing shorthand within a minute.

Was this really a bridal chamber? It felt more like a comprehensive test of physical strength, intelligence, and mental fortitude!

Liuli began to feel like a mere accessory, as Mr. Tang handled everything with ease.

In the end, they had reached the second floor and stood before the bedroom door.

This was the final challenge.

There was only one simple request written on it…

To make the most heartfelt confession using the most affectionate words!

This time, Mr. Tang remained silent. He simply read the sentence quietly.

Someone reminded him that he only had three minutes.

Liuli couldn’t help but curse inwardly.

How could there be love without love?!

But he had no choice. He couldn’t give up halfway during the final stage!

Moreover, compared to the previous unconventional tasks, this last requirement seemed the simplest.

Liuli turned to face Mr. Tang and took a deep breath. She adjusted Tang Moxi’s posture, making sure he was looking directly at her. Then, in a gentle voice and with what she believed to be the most affectionate expression, she said,

“Tang Moxi, let’s grow old together!”

As soon as Liuli spoke, she heard a burst of laughter.

However, deep down, she felt dissatisfied. This was indeed the most heartfelt vow she had ever made!

Tang Moxi lowered his head and fixed his gaze on Liuli.

Liuli stared back at him, feeling a sudden wave of nervousness.

Because even though Mr. Tang had once said…

Liuli, I love you!

That was over the phone, not face-to-face.

She had never heard Mr. Tang confess his love to her in person like this!

“Liuli, one day, I will definitely marry you,” Tang Moxi said, his gaze fixed on Liuli.

Liuli was taken aback. She hadn’t expected this to be Mr. Tang’s most heartfelt vow.

She had wondered what he would say, hoping to hear words like “Liuli, I love you” or “Marrying you is the happiest thing for me.”

But instead, he spoke those words.

Liuli looked at Tang Moxi, feeling a mix of surprise and curiosity.

“Liuli, I did it. I finally married you,” Tang Moxi continued.

Tears welled up in Liuli’s eyes. Overwhelmed with emotion, she reached out and embraced Tang Moxi tightly, disregarding the onlookers. She had never felt so moved before.

Even though Tang Moxi had told her in the past that he loved her, she had always found it hard to believe. She had thought he was either teasing or joking with her.

But now, his most heartfelt vow to her was…

Liuli, one day, I will definitely marry you.

How long had he secretly loved her?

“Uncle, we will definitely grow old together,” Liuli replied, her voice filled with deep emotion, as she nestled in Tang Moxi’s embrace.

With cheers from the crowd, the bedroom door finally opened.

But if that was the end of it…

It would be a grave mistake.

There were two bottles of red wine on the table inside, each with a couplet pasted on it.

The first couplet spoke of a handsome husband, while the second couplet praised a beautiful wife.

Apparently, their happiness and ability to grow old together hinged on drinking the wine.

Did that mean they couldn’t have a happy marriage and grow old together if they didn’t drink it?

Liuli found the concept absurd and distasteful. She wanted to protest and say, “I don’t believe in such superstitions. I won’t do it!”

But before she could voice her objections, she noticed that Tang Moxi had already approached the table. He grabbed the bottle opener and swiftly opened one of the bottles of red wine.

Startled, Liuli hurriedly tried to open the other bottle, but her efforts were in vain. She lacked the strength to do so.

Feeling helpless, she held the red wine bottle and the bottle opener, contemplating seeking advice from the group of mischievous men outside the door.

However, Tang Moxi grabbed her arm and finished the entire bottle of wine. Then, he took the bottle opener and red wine from Liuli’s hand and opened the second bottle.

Liuli was taken aback. She knew that Tang Moxi couldn’t handle much alcohol at night, and consuming it like this could be dangerous.

In her worry, she snatched the red wine he was about to drink and contemplated drinking it herself.

“Liuli, let me handle it,” Tang Moxi said, with a mix of amusement and exasperation.

“No, one bottle each. This bottle is mine!” Liuli clutched the bottle tightly, tears streaming down her face. She felt pitiful and pleaded, “Boss, I wish you and Sister-in-law a blissful marriage. May you grow old together and stay united forever. And please have a child soon!”

“We won’t disturb your special night any longer!”

One of the men smiled and closed the door behind them. Just as Liuli sighed with relief, thinking it was finally over,

The door opened once again. Liuli eyed it warily, afraid of yet another mischievous idea.

“I’m sorry, Boss. I forgot to mention something.”

“There was something special added to the wine. Enjoy it, you and sister-in-law!”

“We’re going for a drink!” With those words, the person hastily shut the door and hurried downstairs.

Liuli stared at Tang Moxi in disbelief.

She couldn’t comprehend what that person had just said.

“Don’t mind him. He Yi was just joking,” Tang Moxi reassured her, gently caressing her face.

What could he possibly have added? At most, some harmless additives.

However, on their wedding night, the grooms were all exhausted, like dogs.

Anyone who had the energy and inclination for such things must be superhuman.

Even if he were Superman, he wouldn’t make any moves on Liuli now.

She was still young, with a long journey ahead of her!

He had the patience to wait for her to mature!

“Alright, I’ll go take a shower first. You can sleep now. And don’t secretly drink the wine. This bottle is mine!” Liuli nodded wearily.

She was so tired that she didn’t have the energy to think about anything else.

“I won’t drink it secretly!” Tang Moxi replied with a smile.

Only then did Liuli set the bottle of red wine aside and closed it with the cap. She walked towards the bathroom.

After taking a few steps, she turned back.

“I feel more comfortable bringing it with me. Otherwise, I’ll be worried about you drinking it while I’m showering.” Saying that, Liuli hugged the bottle of red wine tightly and made her way to the bathroom.

Tang Moxi watched her actions with a mix of amusement and exasperation.

Once Liuli entered the bathroom, Tang Moxi shifted his gaze away. He stood up and left the bedroom, intending to go downstairs and greet everyone.

To his surprise, when he reached the ground floor, he found it empty. The lights were off, and the door was locked.

It seemed that those guys had reached their limit.

They had all retired for the night.

Tang Moxi had no choice but to return to the bedroom.

Liuli was still showering. Tang Moxi walked over to the window and gazed at the illuminated city lights outside.

Grandpa Tang was overjoyed that he and Liuli had gotten married today.

He was dressed in a Tang Dynasty-style suit, wearing a beaming smile. He had advised Tang Moxi to treat Liuli well in the future and ensure she never suffered.

During that conversation, Liuli chimed in.

“Grandpa Tang, tell Brother Moxi not to bully me!”

Grandpa Tang chuckled and replied, “Jingxing won’t bully you!”

No, Brother Moxi often teases me!”

“How does he tease you?” Grandpa Tang asked, still smiling.

“He… always playfully teases me!” Liuli said, sounding a bit anxious.

“Haha, he teases you because he likes you. Don’t you know that Jingxing has a mischievous side?” Grandpa Tang explained.

“He finds it boring if he doesn’t tease someone. He’d think it’s a waste not to say a word!” he added, with a chuckle.

“Grandpa Tang, are you comforting me or aiding the troublemaker?” Liuli scolded, blushing.

Her words elicited laughter from everyone present.

Even Tang Moxi, who felt completely invisible and had been playfully criticized, couldn’t help but smile.

His little girl had always been a spirited and lively one.

He wished for her perpetual happiness, just like she was at that moment.

He would do his best to take care of her. However, he wasn’t entirely sure if what he had to offer was what she truly desired.

Tang Moxi extinguished the cigarette that had burned down to his fingers.

He returned to the sofa and sat down, taking a moment to rest.

He had already finished the bottle of red wine. As for the other bottle, Liuli had taken it into the bedroom.

This girl was worried that he might drink too much. Not only did she shed tears earlier, but she also seemed saddened by the teasing she had endured.

At this moment, she had taken the wine bottle with her to the bathroom, just in case.

Tang Moxi couldn’t help but smile, his heart melting with affection.

Checking the time, he realized that Liuli had been in the bath for quite a while.

After waiting for a bit longer, Liuli still hadn’t come out of the bathroom.

Tang Moxi had a sinking feeling that something was amiss. He stood up, approached the bathroom door, and knocked gently.

“Liuli…”

No response came.

Tang Moxi raised his voice and called out again.

Still, no answer.

Alarmed, he swiftly opened the bathroom door and entered.

In the next moment, he saw Liuli peacefully asleep in the bathtub, embracing the wine bottle.

Relief washed over Tang Moxi, and he found himself torn between laughter and tears.

He approached her, standing beside the tub, and gently pinched her cheek while calling out softly,

“Liuli…”

Hey, don’t snatch it. It’s mine!” Liuli pushed Tang Moxi’s hand away, her voice slurred.

She rolled over in the bathtub, nearly losing her balance.

It was then that Tang Moxi realized Liuli was intoxicated.

An unexpected wave of anger welled up within him, not because Liuli had been drinking.

It was because she had been drinking while taking a bath. And to make matters worse, she had fallen asleep in that state.

Fortunately, she had managed to avoid slipping into the water. The potential consequences of such an accident were too dreadful to contemplate.

Furthermore, he suddenly had a sense that something was amiss and decided to approach the door and knock on it.

The more Tang Moxi pondered on the situation, the more apprehensive he grew. He couldn’t resist the urge to grab Liuli’s arm and felt the temptation to scold her to teach her a lesson.

However, in the next moment, he realized that Liuli was unclothed.

Taken aback, he quickly averted his gaze.

He was completely confused.

They were actually in the bathroom, and Liuli was in the midst of taking a bath.

Only a deranged person would wear clothes while bathing.

He swiftly grabbed a towel and wrapped it around her.

Liuli, Liuli…”

“Sob… I want to sleep. Don’t disturb me!” Liuli mumbled and continued snoozing, oblivious to her current predicament.

Tang Moxi sighed. Ultimately, he assisted Liuli in taking a shower and securely wrapped a towel around her.

Throughout this process, Liuli stubbornly clung to the wine bottle.

“Liuli, please behave. Give the red wine to Brother Moxi for safekeeping,” Tang Moxi had to coax her, considering her temperament.

“No, you’re sneaky when it comes to drinking!” Liuli persisted in holding on.

“Brother Moxi promises not to sneakily drink it and will lock it in a safe.”

“The password will be your birthday,” Tang Moxi proposed.

“Okay! Only I will know the password!” Liuli finally relented.

Tang Moxi took the wine bottle and placed it aside. Then, he lifted Liuli and laid her gently on the bed, tucking her in with the blanket.

Just like that, not only were his clothes wet, but he was also perspiring.

She got up and set the wine bottle aside before entering the bathroom to shower.

After a tiring day, he was exhausted.

Moreover, he had consumed a large amount of alcohol during the night.

He felt as if this body was slowly slipping away from his control.

Upon finishing the shower, Tang Moxi changed into a bathrobe and exited the bathroom. He poured himself a glass of water and drank it.

His mouth felt dry from the excessive drinking the previous night.

After quenching his thirst, he turned to observe Liuli, who was peacefully asleep on the bed, and let out a bitter smile.

He grabbed a blanket and settled on the sofa for the night.

The following morning, Tang Moxi was jolted awake by a scream.

His eyes flew open, and he swiftly removed the blanket, hurrying to the large bed.

Liuli clutched the blanket, her face flushed as she stared at him.

Tang Moxi couldn’t help but take a deep breath, attempting to calm himself. He gazed at Liuli and inquired, “Liuli, what’s the matter?”

Liuli shook her head, her blush intensifying.

“Are you feeling unwell?” Tang Moxi sat beside the bed and asked.

Could it be the lingering effects of last night’s excessive drinking?

He reached out to touch Liuli’s forehead, but she evaded his touch.

“Brother Moxi, didn’t you say that we would still be the same even after we got married?” Liuli asked hesitantly.

“Yes, is there a problem?” Tang Moxi replied.

“Boohoo, we’ve already slept together. Why is it the same as before?” Liuli buried her face in the blanket and asked in frustration.

“Slept?” Tang Moxi was momentarily taken aback before comprehending. “Liuli, are you overthinking things?”

Tang Moxi felt a throbbing headache coming on.

“You think I’m overthinking?” Liuli stared at Tang Moxi in shock, her face still flushed.

“Nothing happened.”

“You fell asleep in the bathtub while showering last night.”

“I carried you out.

“I didn’t help you put on your pajamas because you dozed off. I forgot about it as well,” Tang Moxi replied as he rubbed his temples.

Only then did he recall that he had carried Liuli back to bed to sleep. He went to take a shower in the bathroom and forgot about dressing Liuli in her pajamas.

No wonder she had such a strong reaction when she woke up early in the morning!

“Oh, I see!” Liuli responded awkwardly.

Do you have any other concerns?” Tang Moxi questioned.

“No more drinking in the future.”

“Are you getting up?”

“If you want to get up, I’ll lie down for a while.”

“My back is about to break!” After saying that, Tang Moxi lay down on the side.

Liuli looked at Mr. Tang in astonishment and settled on the bed.

He appeared genuinely tired. Dark circles were visible under his eyes.

Liuli glanced at the sofa, considering whether she had slept there last night!

Liuli immediately felt a twinge of guilt.

Not daring to disturb Mr. Tang any further, she carefully covered him with a corner of the blanket.

Then her eyes fell upon the towel at the foot of the bed.

Liuli shielded herself with the blanket as she reached over to retrieve it. Once she wrapped it around herself, she quietly got out of bed and slipped into the changing room.

After changing into a set of pajamas, she made her way to the bathroom.

Silently, Liuli slipped back into bed and positioned herself on the inner side before resuming her slumber.

She was so incredibly sleepy!

If she hadn’t awoken in a daze and realized that she was unclothed, she wouldn’t have reacted so strongly!

Now, she and the man lay side by side, peacefully.

In truth, Mr. Tang was a true gentleman!

Last night, she had entered the bathroom with a bottle of wine. Upon seeing the large bathtub, she had the urge to indulge in a bath.

While bathing, the notion of enjoying a glass of red wine had flooded her mind!

With that thought, it was as if the waters of the Yellow River were overflowing!

She reclined in the bathtub and took a sip. After a while, she took another sip.

As he brooded over how he had become a married woman, he also contemplated how the wine didn’t taste all that bad! Then…

And that was it.

Because she had already drifted off to sleep.

She had no recollection of what occurred afterward.

When she awoke again, she realized she was unclothed.

She presumed that she had engaged in something intimate with Mr. Tang.

For a moment, she couldn’t accept it, hence her intense reaction!

Alright!

She was overthinking things.

Mr. Tang preferred to sleep on the sofa rather than touch her!

With that realization, Liuli began to scrutinize herself once more. Was she too lacking in femininity?

Was that why her man refrained from touching her?

Or was it because she appeared unattractive when she was drunk?

It seemed as though Mr. Tang had no interest whatsoever.

Liuli immediately felt torn.

Before she succumbed to slumber, she had resolved to inquire about it with Mr. Tang later on.

Was she not captivating enough?

“Liu Li, wake up…”

Tang Moxi, who had already freshened up and changed, sat by the bed to rouse Liuli.

“Brother Moxi, can I sleep a little while longer?” Liuli pleaded, her eyes narrowed.

She was so drowsy that it felt as if she had just blinked her eyes shut.

“Come back and get some more rest after you serve Grandpa Tang his tea!” Tang Moxi cajoled.

“Oh!” Liuli shut her eyes and reopened them a few seconds later.

Then, they slowly shut again. After a few seconds, she struggled to open them.

It seemed like she was engaged in a battle with sleep.

Tang Moxi couldn’t bear to see her like this.

“Why don’t you sleep a little while longer? I’ll go and inform Grandpa Tang first.

You can come and serve him tea later!”

“No, no, Brother Moxi, wait for me. I’ll come with you!”

Liuli immediately sat up, narrowing her eyes.

After a few seconds, she lifted the blanket, got out of bed, and made her way to the bathroom.

Perhaps she bumped into something with her eyes still closed.

Tang Moxi exclaimed, and he heard Liuli mumbling to herself,

“Boohoo, it hurts. Why is there a door?!”

Then, she pushed open the bathroom door and entered.

Tang Moxi found it amusing.

Whose bathroom didn’t have a door!

Was it an open-air bath?

Liuli truly woke up after brushing her teeth and washing her face.

Suddenly, her eyes widened as she stared at her forehead in the mirror.

Why was it red?

Liuli reached out and touched her forehead, feeling a slight ache.

After finishing her hair, she entered the changing room, found an outfit, and dressed herself. Stepping out, she pitifully remarked,

“Brother Moxi, was I assaulted yesterday?

“Look at my forehead, it’s turning red!”

Tang Moxi turned around and smiled upon hearing Liuli’s words.

“You were still half-asleep and accidentally bumped into the bathroom door just now!”

“Just now…”

Only then did Liuli recall that she had bumped into something moments ago.

Only then did she realize that it was the door she had collided with.

Sob, how embarrassing. She even mentioned it to Mr. Tang and asked if she was assaulted?

“Once we’re done, you can go back to sleep.”

“You can sleep until lunchtime,” Tang Moxi replied.

It’s okay. Brother Moxi, if you have any plans later, I’ll accompany you,” Liuli responded, feeling embarrassed.

Although she was still a bit sleepy, now that she was awake, she felt too self-conscious to go back to sleep.

Furthermore, her mother had repeatedly reminded her to be obedient, sensible, and a good wife before she got married.

How could she have the audacity to sleep soundly on the second day of their marriage?

Even though she wanted to.

“We’ll serve Grandpa Tang tea later and have breakfast with Grandpa Tang, Yunxi, and Yanxi.”

“There aren’t any other plans for now.”

“If you want to sleep, go ahead!” Tang Moxi replied.

“Brother Moxi, can you please stop emphasizing sleep?

“It makes me feel like a pig!” Liuli pouted.

Tang Moxi looked at Liuli and smiled.

“Alright, I won’t mention sleep anymore. Let’s head to Grandpa Tang’s place first.”

“I’ll introduce you to some people later.”

Tang Moxi held Liuli’s hand as they walked out of the bedroom.

“Brother Moxi, we’re wearing matching outfits today!” Liuli said with a smile as they exited their building. She looked at Mr. Tang and then at herself.

Tang Moxi glanced back and replied,

“What do you think?”

“What do you mean?” Liuli blinked, looking at Tang Moxi in confusion.

“How do you feel about wearing matching outfits?”

Liuli covered her mouth and giggled.

“It’s quite amusing, isn’t it?”

No, I just thought of a word!” Liuli laughed again.

“What word?”

“Parent-child clothes!” Liuli covered her mouth once more.

“You little rascal!

Tang Moxi was torn between laughter and exasperation as he lightly tapped her head.

“Do you think your husband is that old? Parent-child outfits, really!”

“No, no. Hubby is so handsome!” Liuli exclaimed, then quickly realized what she had said and blushed slightly.

“From now on, say that to me every morning when you wake up. I’ll become younger!”

“Haha, really? Haha, you’re so funny, Uncle!”
